    What are uPVC Windows?

When it comes to choosing windows for your home, the options seem endless. But uPVC is a strong choice.

Unplasticised polyvinyl chloride, or uPVC, is widely used because of its durability and resistance to weathering, as well as its versatility to create a variety of products. uPVC windows are made up of a uPVC frame and double-glazed glass panes. The frames are incredibly strong, which enables them to support the weight of the glass without warping or bending. This is important because it means the window will remain structurally sound over time, even if it’s exposed to harsh weather conditions.

How energy efficient are uPVC windows?

uPVC windows are an extremely energy efficient option, retaining as much heat as possible, allowing your home to be comfortable all year round. U-values are used to measure the rate of heat transfer through a structure. The lower the U-value, the more energy efficient the window is. At Falcon, our uPVC windows meet the U-values set out by the Building Regulations and achieve an A Windows Energy Rating (WER).

    casement window

Most uPVC windows you’ll see are casement windows. With multiple frame configurations, these windows are versatile in their design, with a range of sash opening options. Not all windows are the same, however, and casement windows from Falcon are ultra energy efficient (achieving an A Windows Energy Rating), as well as 5-point locking system for high security.

    tilt and turn window

Also known as German windows, these windows tilt inwards for a more secure way of ventilating your home, but can also be opened fully inwards for ease of cleaning or as a fire egress. Tilt and turn windows are ideal for upper floors.

    french window

Stylish and secure, french windows look like a set of casement windows, but can open out fully to let the outside in. This traditional design is perfect for cottages or other period properties and looks excellent matched with leaded glass designs.

    bay and box windows

We are experienced at installing full sets of bay and box bay windows, to create a seamless look. We can also design and install perfect fit bow windows, for rounded bay window shapes.

    secondary glazing

A cheaper alternative to double glazing, secondary glazing is a great way of increasing the energy efficiency of a single glazed room. Secondary windows are slim, discreet and make a big difference to the heat retention of a property.

    arched window

No matter what size or shape window you need, we can help. We have designed and installed angular, arched and circle windows.
