Which areas do Falcon Installations cover?

We are based in Bridgend, South Wales and serve Rhonda Cynon Taff, Vale of Glamorgan, Llantrisant, Swansea, Neath, Port Talbot, Cardiff, Newport, Merthyr Tydfil, Barry and Cowbridge. We were founded in 1990 as a two-man team and have since grown in both strength and numbers, with the local knowledge and experience to make every installation a successful one.

Triple glazing or double glazing?

Choosing between triple glazing and double glazing is crucial for your home investment. Double glazing, with two panes, offers excellent insulation at a budget-friendly cost. Triple glazing, with an extra glass layer, enhances insulation and reduces noise, ideal for areas with extreme weather like stormy South Wales.

Despite triple glazing’s superior thermal performance, we understand budget considerations. At Falcon Installations, we guide you in finding the perfect option for your family’s needs, ensuring an energy-efficient and cosy home.

Do I need planning permission for my windows?

In most cases, planning permission is not required for new windows and doors. If you live in a conservation area, your options could be limited as improvements must closely match the original house design.

Our supportive team is available to guide you through the process and address any queries, ensuring a hassle-free experience in planning your new home renovation.

What is FENSA and why is it needed?

FENSA (Fenestration Self-Assessment Scheme) is a certification and regulatory scheme created by the UK Government. This ensures that window and door installations comply with Building Regulations, energy efficiency and safety standards. You can be confident that your windows and doors have been installed to the highest of standards when you choose Falcon for your project.

Do you offer any warranties or guarantees for your double glazing products?

We prioritise your home’s security with our insurance-backed guarantee. Aligned with the Police-approved Secured by Design initiative, we promise a free replacement* in case of forced entry theft (excluding glass breakage).

Our windows and doors are meticulously crafted for maximum security. We also offer a price match guarantee if you provide us with a comparable quote from the last 3 months.

*Conditions apply: a detailed police report is required for the security guarantee.

What is a U-value?

A U-value measures the rate of heat transfer through a building material. It indicates the insulation efficiency, with lower U-values signifying better insulation. In windows and doors, a lower U-value means reduced heat loss, contributing to energy efficiency and cost savings on heating and cooling.

How do I maintain my double and triple glazed windows?

Our top-tier windows demand minimal maintenance, but the unpredictable Welsh weather can pose a challenge. To safeguard your windows, clean the glass regularly with a gentle, non-abrasive cleaner and a soft cloth. Additionally, inspect seals and frames for any wear or damage to ensure the longevity of your windows.

How do I minimise condensation?

While our windows are designed to help reduce the problem of condensation, many homeowners will see it creeping in as the months grow colder. You can take steps to minimise the risk. Find out more in our blog on fighting condensation.

What payment options do you offer? / How can I pay?

We offer a range of flexible payment options at Falcon Installations for your convenience. We accept major debit cards, cash, cheques, and bank transfers. Whether it’s a small or large project, we’re here to assist, even if short-term funds are unavailable.
